The last 30 days got away from me completely.
Life has a funny way of stacking things up until the pile is too tall to see over. Between the chaos of Lunar New Year, a guest cat who has completely taken over my office, and the general avalanche of life admin, my blog took a back seat.
I did write a few evergreen pieces during that stretch, but honestly, they weren’t ready. And publishing something half-baked just to say I posted something felt worse than staying quiet.
So I didn’t. And now I’m back.
About that cat situation: Yes, I was babysitting someone else’s cat, and she is, objectively, adorable.
The problem?
My cat disagrees. Strongly. He has made it very clear that this is his empire, and he has no interest in sharing it.
So I’ve been doing a constant shuffle between rooms, making sure both cats are entertained, fed, and emotionally stable.
It’s like running two tiny, parallel households under one roof.
She was pretty stressed the first couple of days, but then she was fully settled in. She became comfortable enough to make the most distractingly cute little sounds right when I’m trying to focus.
You can imagine how recording bedtime stories for English learners has been going.
Here’s what’s on my plate now that I’m back in the driver’s seat:
Recording Bedtime Stories for English Learners
I have about 30 bedtime stories ready to go. Each one runs around two to four minutes, and I’ve been itching to record and upload the first batch. I want clean, crisp audio, not a purring soundtrack in the background (as charming as that might sound to some of you).
The good news is my babysitting duties are now over, and I have a quiet office again. I’ll be hitting the record button soon.
The Million Dollar Challenge
This one’s officially starting. I know I teased a different idea earlier, but I’ve landed on something more grounded, viable, sustainable, and honestly more exciting than what I originally had in mind.
I’ll cover the full breakdown in its own post to keep the series clean and easy to follow. The short version? I’m done staring at a zero on the scoreboard. Time to change that.
Catching Up on Blogging
There’s a lot I’ve been sitting on, and I want to share it, but not all at once. If I tried to cram everything in here, you’d be reading a trilogy by the end. Instead, I’ll roll things out in a few separate updates so each one gets the attention it deserves.
Restructuring My Tandem Schedule
I’ve been spending a lot of time on Tandem lately, and while I love it, I’ve noticed my social battery draining faster than it should.
Random daily parties and spontaneous co-hosting sessions are fun, but they’ve been pulling me in too many directions.
From now on, I’m moving to a more focused schedule with deeper conversations on topics I actually care about, with the occasional fun party mixed in. Quality over quantity.
My “2 Tandem Wives” will understand.
Final Word
The Lunar New Year didn’t go quite the way I pictured it. But maybe that’s okay. Sometimes a forced pause is the universe’s way of making you slow down long enough to regroup. I feel steadier now, and I’m ready to get back to building.
Thanks for sticking around during the quiet spell. A lot is coming. Let’s go.
