For a few years now, I’ve been contemplating a drastic move that would shake things up. And before you ask, nothing is wrong. I have an incredible marriage, a work-life balance most people can only dream of, and I’m living in Taiwan, a country I started calling home for years.
So what’s the problem?
Nothing on the surface. But deep down, there’s this whisper that keeps saying: You could be doing more. There are areas I should have tackled years ago. Things I’ve let sit on the back burner while life happened around them.
Even when you’re at your peak of happiness, a life reset can be the spark that keeps everything fresh and exciting.
Ever since I went solo and sold my business, I’ve been floating in this strange limbo: unsure whether to keep operating the way I always have or to find a completely new direction.
It’s like standing at a crossroads where both paths look appealing, but you know you can’t take both.
Now, with 2026 just around the corner, I can feel all these elements aligning. Creating the perfect storm for change. And when the universe hands you that kind of opportunity, you don’t ignore it. You lean in.
What Am I Planning?
The list isn’t set in stone. The hardest part has been finding a starting point, figuring out which thread to pull first. But here’s what’s currently on my radar:
- Review my subscriptions – How many services am I paying for that I’ve forgotten exist?
- Shake up my current tools – Time to question whether my go-to apps are still serving me
- Learning Chinese – I started a few weeks ago, and it’s been both humbling and exhilarating
- Start experimenting with AI – Finally diving into something I’ve been circling for too long
- A 30-day writing challenge– Because I am a terrible writer trying to blog in a non-native language
- Explore new hobbies or interests I’ve postponed– Those “someday” projects need to become “today” projects
- Another attempt to quit smoking – This one’s been on the list too many times, but that doesn’t mean I stop trying
- …and honestly, the list goes on
I’m a big believer in the idea that starting small can create a ripple effect. Tackle one “lesser significant” item, and suddenly you’ve built momentum toward that bigger reset point. It’s like dominoes, and you need to tip the first one.
The Beauty of Not Knowing
The greatest thing about all this? I have absolutely no idea how it’s going to turn out.
That unpredictability factor is what makes this whole thing so compelling. It permits me to experiment, to fail, to document the messy middle parts. That’s why The StreetPoint Brew exists in the first place: as a diary where I can look back and see exactly where the journey started, wrong turns and all.
I’m not waiting until 2026. The moment this post goes live, I’m diving in. No grand announcements, no elaborate preparation. Just action.
I’m excited. Let’s see where this goes.
